We sometimes recruit testers for our usability services via our web site. A visitor must first complete the registration form, which requests personal information, work experience, Internet and PC experience. This information is used to contact the visitor about participating in future usability tests and focus groups.

Aggregate information allows people and their businesses to be smarter about customer experiences on their web site. Without giving out personally identifiable information, we occasionally make aggregate information gathered through our usability testing, expert audits or focus groups available to our customers. This could be in the form of customer preferences analysis, trends, usage patterns, etc.

We will share aggregated demographic information with our partners, customers, and visitors to our web site. This is not linked to any personal information that can identify any individual person. In the event that User Insight works with a partner organization, any sharing of information with the partner will be done only with user's consent.

We use IP addresses to analyze trends, track user's movement, and to gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.

This web site takes every precaution to protect our users' information. When users submit information via the web site, this information is protected both online and off-line.

Children under 18 are not eligible to register as testers, use our applications or services and we ask that minors (under the age of 18) do not submit any personal information to us. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 18. If you are a minor, you can only view our public web site. If we learn that we have personal information on a child under the age of 18, we will delete that information from our systems.

We will not sell, trade, or rent your personally identifiable information to others outside of User Insight. Any information that you provide will not be attributable to you, as collected information is generally viewed at the aggregate level.

User Insight does not use cookies during the general navigation of our site. Cookies may be used to collect profile information, but are used only for that purpose and are not connected to any personally identifiable information.

In order to bridge the different US and European Union privacy approaches and provide a streamlined means for U.S. organizations to comply with the European Commission's Directive on Data Privacy , the U.S. Department of Commerce in consultation with the European Commission developed a "safe harbor" framework which was approved by the EU in July of 2000. This document outlines seven safe harbour principles. User Insight makes every effort to comply with those seven principles, and is currently considering Safe Harbor certification.
